Kevin spent the first decade of his career representing corporations. He figured out early on that he enjoyed courtroom work. And within a few years, at a time when most lawyers at defense firms are stuck doing grunt work, he was serving as first chair trial counsel on auto and general liability cases for a worldwide insurer and for a large hospital system. 

During his years representing insurance companies, hospitals, and large institutions, Kevin learned how claims are evaluated behind closed doors. He saw what facts increase settlement value, what arguments defense lawyers rely on, what mistakes can weaken a case, and what evidence insurance companies focus on when deciding whether to pay or fight.

The more time he spent in the courtroom, the more he found himself drawn to representing individuals and families rather than corporations. In December 2014, he left a large corporate job to partner in a firm representing regular people harmed by the negligent, reckless, and fraudulent acts of others. He stayed in that partnership until 2023.

In 2023, he established Kevin Etzkorn Law to provide focused representation in a smaller number of serious cases. He works closely with each client and and limits his caseload so that he can remain personally involved throughout the litigation process. When someone hires the firm, Kevin works to understand not only what happened but how it has affected that person’s life and family. From there, the focus becomes identifying those responsible and pursuing the best possible outcome.
